Yala Peak (5,732m) is one of the most accessible trekking peaks in Nepal, located in the Langtang region north of Kathmandu inside Langtang National Park. It is ideal for beginners who want their first Himalayan summit experience without highly technical climbing.
The route combines a beautiful trek through Langtang Valley with a short alpine climb near the Tibetan border. Climbers pass through forests, traditional Tamang villages, monasteries, and high alpine landscapes before reaching base camp and attempting the summit.
The summit offers panoramic views of:
- Langtang Lirung (7,227m)
- Dorje Lakpa (6,966m)
- Shishapangma (8,027m) in Tibet
- Ganesh Himal range
This climb is mainly a non-technical snow peak, but requires good fitness, acclimatization, and basic crampon/ice axe use.
