Standing at 8,516 meters (27,940 ft), Mount Lhotse is the fourth-highest peak in the world and forms an iconic part of the Everest massif. Located on the border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, Lhotse is directly connected to Mount Everest via the South Col, making it one of the most dramatic and technically significant mountains in the Himalayas.
The mountain features three distinct summits—Lhotse Main (8,516m), Lhotse Shar (8,383m), and Lhotse Middle (8,414m). Its most defining feature is the steep and demanding Lhotse Couloir, a narrow icy corridor that presents one of the most challenging sections of any 8,000-meter climb.
First successfully climbed in 1956 by Swiss mountaineers Ernst Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger, Lhotse has since become a major objective for elite climbers, often attempted alongside Everest or as an independent expedition goal.
Ultimate Himalaya’s Lhotse Expedition Elite is designed for experienced climbers seeking a highly supported, professionally managed, and safety-focused 8,000-meter expedition with world-class logistics, Sherpa support, and structured acclimatization.
