Classic Manaslu Circuit Trek

Explore Nepal's Hidden Himalayan Wilderness and Sacred Buddhist Valley

The Manaslu Circuit Trek with Tsum Valley is one of Nepal's most rewarding and culturally immersive trekking adventures. Combining the remote Manaslu Circuit with the mystical Tsum Valley, this extraordinary journey takes you through untouched Himalayan landscapes, ancient Buddhist monasteries, traditional mountain villages, and one of Nepal's most spectacular high mountain passes.

Located in the restricted Manaslu Conservation Area, this region remained largely isolated from the outside world until trekking was officially opened to foreign visitors in 1991. The Tsum Valley, often referred to as the "Hidden Valley of Happiness," was opened even later, preserving its unique Tibetan Buddhist culture, centuries-old monasteries, and traditional way of life.

The trek follows the Budhi Gandaki River through lush subtropical forests, deep river gorges, terraced farmlands, and remote mountain settlements inhabited by Gurung, Nubri, and Tibetan-origin communities. As the trail ascends, dramatic views of snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and high Himalayan landscapes unfold at every turn.

One of the journey's highlights is exploring the sacred Tsum Valley, home to ancient monasteries such as Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa. The valley offers a rare opportunity to experience authentic Tibetan Buddhist culture that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.

The adventure continues northward into the high Himalayas, where trekkers gradually acclimatize before crossing the spectacular Larkya La Pass (5,106 m), the highest point of the trek. The crossing rewards adventurers with breathtaking panoramic views of Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, Annapurna II, and numerous surrounding peaks.

Despite being one of Nepal's most scenic trekking routes, the Manaslu Circuit remains significantly less crowded than the Everest and Annapurna regions, making it an ideal choice for trekkers seeking solitude, authentic culture, and pristine mountain wilderness.

Due to its remote nature, weather conditions can be unpredictable, with temperatures ranging from approximately 20°C in lower elevations to well below freezing at higher altitudes. Proper preparation and warm clothing are recommended regardless of the season.

The Manaslu Circuit with Tsum Valley offers a perfect combination of adventure, cultural exploration, and Himalayan beauty, making it one of Nepal's finest off-the-beaten-path trekking experiences.
