Himlung Himal Expedition (7,126 m) – Nepal

The Himlung Himal Expedition (7,126 m) is a high-altitude climbing program in the remote Nar-Phu region of Nepal, north of the Annapurna range. Known as one of the most achievable 7000-meter peaks, Himlung is widely used as a training peak for 8000m expeditions due to its relatively stable conditions, low avalanche risk, and well-established route.

The journey combines an adventurous trek through restricted valleys, Tibetan-influenced villages, and dramatic Himalayan landscapes before establishing a fully supported high-altitude base camp at 4,900 m.

Climbers gradually acclimatize through rotations up to Camp I, Camp II, and Camp III before attempting the summit via the West Ridge.

Arrival & Approach

Base Camp Establishment

Day 9: Trek Phu Gaun → Himlung Base Camp (4,900 m), Base camp fully established with kitchen, dining, tents, communication setup

Day 10-15

Rotation Climbing (Acclimatization Phase)

Day 10–15: Rotation cycles between:

  • Base Camp (4,900 m)
  • Camp I (5,450 m)
  • Camp II (6,000 m)

Climbers progressively acclimatize using fixed ropes, load carries, and practice climbs.

Day 16-21

Summit Push

Day 16–21: Summit period

Typical progression:

  • Base Camp → Camp I → Camp II → Camp III (6,350 m)
  • Final summit push from Camp III
  • Summit Himlung Himal (7,126 m)
  • Return to Base Camp

Summit climb typically takes 8–10 hours from Camp III depending on conditions.

Leisure Day in Kathmandu (1,400m)

This free day allows for relaxation, sightseeing, souvenir shopping, or optional spa treatments. A farewell dinner may be organized in the evening to celebrate the expedition.

Final Departure

You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure, concluding your Mt. Himlung Himal Expedition
