Island Peak (Imja Tse), standing at 6,189 meters, is one of Nepal's most popular trekking peaks and an ideal introduction to Himalayan mountaineering. Nestled in the heart of the Everest region, the peak offers an exciting combination of trekking and alpine climbing, rewarding climbers with spectacular views of Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, and other Himalayan giants. With basic technical sections involving crampons and fixed ropes, Island Peak is suitable for adventurous trekkers with good fitness and determination.

To prepare for the climb, the trek follows the Everest Base Camp Trek, one of the world's most iconic trekking routes. The journey through the Khumbu Valley provides excellent acclimatization while showcasing the rich Sherpa culture, stunning mountain scenery, Everest Base Camp (5,364m), and the famous viewpoint of Kala Patthar (5,545m). Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you’ll have time to relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, meet your expedition leader for a comprehensive briefing covering the trek, climbing schedule, equipment checks, and safety procedures.

Day 02

Fly to Lukla (2,840m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

Take an exhilarating mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Upon arrival, meet the trekking crew and begin an easy trek through traditional Sherpa villages and beautiful pine forests. Following the Dudh Koshi River, the trail gradually descends to the village of Phakding.

Day 03

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today’s trek follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. Enter Sagarmatha National Park before ascending through forests to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant trading hub of the Khumbu region. Along the way, weather permitting, enjoy your first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Day 04

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

A vital acclimatization day to help your body adapt to increasing altitude. A short hike to the Everest View Hotel or nearby viewpoints offers magnificent panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Spend the afternoon exploring Namche Bazaar and its local markets, cafes, and museums.

Day 05

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Debuche (3,870m)

The trail contours high above the Dudh Koshi Valley with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After passing through Tengboche, home to the region’s most famous monastery, descend slightly through rhododendron forests to the peaceful village of Debuche.

Day 06

Trek from Debuche to Dingboche (4,410m)

Continue trekking through Pangboche and into the upper Imja Valley. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine as trees give way to open terrain. Dingboche offers stunning views of Ama Dablam and serves as an important acclimatization stop on the route to Everest Base Camp and Island Peak.

Day 07

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)

Gradually ascend through alpine meadows and glacial terrain toward Lobuche. Along the route, pass memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest and neighboring peaks. Enjoy dramatic views of Nuptse, Pumori, and the Khumbu Glacier.

Day 08

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Return to Gorak Shep (5,170m)

Follow the rugged trail alongside the Khumbu Glacier to reach the legendary Everest Base Camp. Standing beneath the towering peaks of the Everest massif is a truly unforgettable experience. After exploring Base Camp and taking photographs, return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Day 09

Sunrise at Kala Patthar (5,545m) and Trek to Dingboche

Rise early for a pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar, the finest viewpoint in the Everest region. Witness a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and surrounding Himalayan giants. After descending to Gorak Shep for breakfast, continue trekking back to Dingboche.

Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung (4,730m)

Day 11

Trek to Island Peak High Camp (5,550m)

Ascend steeply along rocky trails toward Island Peak High Camp. Upon arrival, settle into camp and receive a detailed climbing briefing from your Sherpa guides. Equipment checks and final preparations for summit day will be conducted before an early dinner and rest.

Day 12

Summit Island Peak (6,189m) and Return to Chhukung

Begin the summit push in the early hours of the morning. Climb through rocky terrain before reaching the glacier, where crampons, fixed ropes, and climbing equipment are used. Upon reaching the summit of Island Peak, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayan range. After celebrating your achievement, descend carefully to High Camp and continue to Chhukung.

Day 13

Contingency Day

A reserve day built into the itinerary to allow flexibility in case of adverse weather, route conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances affecting the summit attempt.

Trek from Chhukung to Tengboche

Begin the descent through the beautiful Imja Valley, retracing the trail past Dingboche and Pangboche before reaching Tengboche. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery and enjoy the serene mountain surroundings.

Day 15

Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Fly to Kathmandu

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
